Early on, Bobbie became deeply involved in both the  Buffalo Grove and Long Grove communities.  She was personally responsible for the development of Twin Groves Park at Ivy Hall School, and was a guiding force in the successful referendum to build Prairie School. 

Bobbie served eight years (1978-1986) on the Buffalo Grove Village Board.  She was chairman of the committee responsible for bringing Lake Michigan water to the community, helped form the Buffalo Grove Fire Department as a municipal entity, and updated the village’s developer donation ordinance that resulted in significant additions to acreage later dedicated to the Buffalo Grove Park District’s holdings.

In 1987, she was elected to a four year term on the Lake County Board (representing Long Grove, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich and the Barrington area) and the Board of the Lake County Forest Preserve where she served as Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Bobbie joined McKee Real Estate in 1992, purchased the business in 2002, and doubled the volume by 2006. An opportunity for further growth presented itself and in May, 2007, McKee joined Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., the largest and fastest growing privately owned real estate company in the nation, with over 550 corporate and franchise offices, and became WEICHERT, REALTORS® - McKee Real Estate.

Also, during the 1990's, Bobbie served two terms as president of the Long Grove Historical Society and spent several years as the director of its popular Archer School program, where she continues to serve as a docent and teacher.  Currently, Bobbie is active in the Long Grove Lions Club, the Long Grove/Kildeer Benefit Bridge Group and the Long Grove/Kildeer Neighbors and Newcomers Club.  She sponsors and actively supports many community, school, scouting, and athletic groups.  Hobbies include gardening, reading, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren.
